Dr. Yang Liu is the head of the Research Center and Chest Wall Trauma Surgery at the International Chest Wall Surgery (ICWS), Secretary of the China Chest Wall Surgery Alliance, Secretary and Member of the Chest Wall Surgery Speciality Committee at the Guangdong Association of Thoracic Diseases, Member of the Guangdong Medical Education Association’s Translational Oncology Specialty Committee, and a Ph.D. candidate in Thoracic Surgery.
Dr. Liu specializes in treating pectus excavatum across all age groups, as well as other chest wall deformities such as pectus carinatum and flat chest. During his seven years of clinical practice and scientific research, Dr. Liu has participated in over 4,000 chest wall surgeries, including taking charge of more than 1,000 operations involving the removal of internal fixation plates for various types of chest wall deformities.
As of now, Dr. Liu has published over 40 papers in SCI journals and core periodicals both domestically and internationally, including two SCI papers as the first author (with the highest impact factor of 3.932) and three papers in Chinese core journals. Additionally, he has led one provincial-level medical research project and participated in the research of multiple provincial and municipal-level projects.
